Discover what your life could be like as a Healthcare Practice partner through Uel Campbell.
08.00 Quite often I start my day with a business networking meeting. It gives me the opportunity to meet with other business contacts and introduce Healthcare Practice to other members and visitors. It can be either our range of Flexible health for individuals, families and the self employed or our corporate policies for the employers in the meeting.
10.00 With the price of fuel I try to work smarter with my travel and if I can arrange a client meeting after the networking meeting, possibly at the same venue, I do so as it saves time and travel.
11.00 As part of my business I have a number of introducers who I work with to promote Healthcare Practice and also add value to their business. They range from accountants, general insurance brokers, IFA’s to business coaches and motivational speakers who are dealing with business and personal customers on a day to day basis. I like to keep in touch on a structured, rolling programme and contact them to keep them up to date on what’s going on in WPA. Sometimes it’s a chat on the phone but more often than not I would arrange to meet with them.
12.30 Although I have all the mobile technology I need at my fingertips to allow me to quickly respond to customer needs, I like to get back to my office at home to deal with e-mails, letters and any issues that have arisen from phone calls.
1.00 Lunch can be a bit flexible time wise but for me it’s important to have something to eat otherwise I get grumpy in the afternoon and, joking aside, productivity drops as well.
1.30 Now I check my diary to see if there are any gaps I need to fill over the next couple of weeks. It’s important to plan ahead, but also to be flexible enough to adapt to any changes that may need to be made at short notice.
3.00 Another customer meeting, this time it’s a corporate scheme & I am presenting to two directors. As is often the case in my area, it’s a family run business so our flexible products work well as the directors and families can have a higher level of cover than the employees, but everyone receives the same excellent customer service. One director is impressed that we are offering free dental cover for the first year as a customer incentive and that just might be enough to encourage them to move forward.
5.00 Healthcare Practice provide us with a fantastic level of support but in a fast moving environment I need to ensure I have all the tools I need to do my job so it’s time to check the e-mails again and confirm tomorrows appointments. I also check I have all the brochures and quotes I need and, if required, order some more literature. I now use more online tools like linkedin and twitter, a great new method for attracting customers into my business, directly or indirectly, so it’s usually now I will turn my attention to post any updates or reply to any posts.
6.00 Dinner time. Early evening I spend time running the administration side of my business to ensure my days are as productive as possible.
