Heidi Zhou is a wife and stay at home mum with two children. Although her son and daughter are both at school they are very sporty and Heidi spends much of her time driving them to various clubs and activities.
Heidi wanted to work but needed something flexible that would fit around her family commitments. Initially Heidi was not searching for a franchise business but she stumbled across an advertisement for the ColourWheel opportunity and was instantly smitten. She enjoyed art at school and loved the idea that she could run her own business with just 3 classes a week during term time.
Heidi came to visit one of the classes, she got an opportunity to meet with one of the ColourWheel franchisees and see exactly what was involved in running an art class. She loved the environment, working with adults who enjoy attending the art classes.
Heidi spent time with the ColourWheel management team so that she could understand all aspect of the business and ColourWheel got an opportunity to know her. Heidi has exceptional customer service skills, a wonderful personality and great attention to detail and so when she called a week later to say that she would love to join the team at ColourWheel they were delighted, ColourWheel knew she would be a wonderful addition to the network.
Heidi had help finding her perfect venue and interviewing for her teacher, her Franchise Manager was with her every step of the way, visiting locations and attending the interviews with her. Following a short marketing campaign Heidi is now up and running with three classes and her first class sold out with 2 weeks of marketing. She now hosts two classes on a Tuesday and one shorter class on a Wednesday. With no classes during school holidays she has found the perfect business that balances her work life but allows her to earn a great salary.
Heidi says:
"I have to say that joining ColourWheel as a franchisee is the best decision I have ever made. I wish I could have started to work with them earlier! I had so much help from the whole ColourWheel team and especially from Sarah, she is always there when I need her. It is such a joy running the art classes, it is so very satisfying to see students improving and developing their skills and watching their work develop."
