“Starting again, after taking time out, posed the question about my credibility when it came to financing a new business, but what business? It was a problem because I would struggle to work for someone else. I could not make up my mind and it took, eventually, 18 months to reach my final decision. Franchising was clearly the way to go especially when, on the basis of an established business, funding from the bank is readily available to set you up, highlighted when my wife started her mobile pet washing business. It also brought to my attention that the pet industry was thriving – an opportunity that evolves naturally.
“Seeing the potential connection with my wife led me to investigate the competition within pet food home delivery. Without too much hesitation Oscar was the only one for me - professional, organised and prepared to roll up their sleeves and muck in when starting out – just what is needed when taking on a new venture.
“The beauty of running my Oscar business is that I have continued back-up; there is always someone at the end of a phone, a network that can project a much larger image. I can even go on holiday - I know that Head Office will service my customers in my absence. I can’t believe that it took me so long to realise the benefits of running a franchise business.”
